Google could be about to enter [the item-tracking market](, with a new report pointing to a product being worked on ahead of a possible 2023 launch. Why does it matter? Leaker and developer Kuba Wojciechowski says that an item tracker codenamed "grogu" is being worked on within Google, with the Nest team tasked with getting it ready for market. What's my take? Tile dominated the Bluetooth tracker market for many years until Apple launched the AirTag - working on much the same principle - and made trackers much higher profile. Apple's advantage is that it can use all the iPhones out there in the wild to detect lost AirTags and pass the location back to the owner. The only other brand who could rival that reach is Google, if it could do the same with Android phones. That's the barrier faced by other solutions - Tile is only detected by Tile users, while Samsung Tag is only detected by Samsung phones. Google could sweep aside those others and basically make this a market where you choose Apple or Google... again. I suspect that many Android phone owners would be happy to have a tag that worked across all devices, regardless of brand.  First physical Google Pixel Fold leak promises a small display crease and more HOWTOISOLVE What's happened? The Google Pixel Fold is rumoured for a 2023 release and now our [first physical leak is here](. It has some secrets to share. Why does it matter? The Pixel Fold is one of the most hotly-anticipated phones of the year and we've already seen Google's first foldable leak a few times. Now we've been treated to a look at a physical mockup of the device, with YouTuber Dave2D taking a look to try and figure out what the phone has in store. What's my take? The Pixel Fold rumours have been circulating for some time - years in fact - with each proposed launch passing by. Google might be taking this category more seriously in 2023, with rumours of the Google I/O unveiling and a launch at the Google Hardware event in October. I expect it to be both - the reveal, followed by a wait before it official launches and goes on sale. This preview is interesting, albeit just a mockup designed to help case manufacturers design new products. It suggests a hinge similar to the Oppo Fold N, which perhaps means slightly less of a crease. My prediction is that we'll learn more in May.  Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro review: Sharp and speedy POCKET-LINT What's happened? RedMagic kicks off the calendar year with another powerhouse of a gaming phone, this time sporting the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This processor alone means that it's a capable gaming machine, but combined with RedMagic's innovative cooling solutions and software optimisation, this device seems like it could unlock the silicon's true potential. Our quick verdict The RedMagic 8 Pro is the fastest gaming phone money can buy. It's not perfect, you'll have to live with an awful selfie camera, and might run into some software bugs - but if you can get past that, you're unlikely to find a better performer.
