Ring is expanding its security product line to beyond the home, with the [announcement of the Ring Car Cam]( - the first dashboard camera from the Amazon-owned brand. Why does it matter? The device features two HD cameras which face front and back. Like Ring Video Doorbells and other products, they can start to record when motion is detected, to help prevent car break-ins and theft. There's also night vision on board, so they can provide 24-hour protection. What's my take? Ring has been rumoured to introduce its own dashcam for a while and finally, at CES 2023, its done so. The Ring Car Cam will be exclusive to the US and North America initially (priced at $199.99 for a limited period), but often rolls out products to other regions over the following months. It also makes sense. You can have it set up in the same Ring app as the rest of your smart home security system and therefore keep track of your house, porch, garden and car at the same time. One word of warning though, to get the most from it, you will need to subscribe to Ring Protect Go - a separate service to the existing Ring cloud service for home devices. So, you'll need to factor in that cost too.  HTC Vive XR Elite is HTC's most versatile all-in-one headset yet HTC VIVE What's happened? The [HTC Vive XR Elite]( is the latest headset in the company's line-up and one that seemingly promises it all. Why does it matter? Revealed at CES 2023, the Vive XR Elite is a standalone, all-in-one headset that's also PC tetherable and promises to be great for gaming, productivity, the Metaverse and more. What's my take? We've had a lot of false dawns for virtual reality, which has never really kicked off the way many believed in the mid-2010s. However, 2023 could be the year it does finally garner excitement outside of VR enthusiasts and commercial use. Not only will we get the PlayStation VR2 for PS5 next month, but HTC Vive has unveiled a headset that can seemingly do it all. The HTC Vive XR Elite can be used independently of a powerful PC (and wire-free) but will also be boosted when you do connect it. It also has come impressive specifications. The only sticking point (once again) is cost. You'll have to cough-up £1,299 in the UK, $1,099 in the US for one, and that's a mighty lump of cash to jump on board. Hopefully, the tech will bleed down into something more affordable in the near future - then VR might really get the boost it so desperately needs.  The Witcher 3 next-gen upgrade review: The best way to play a true classic CD PROJEKT RED What's happened? It's a marker of just how wildly successful The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been that its next-gen update was anticipated with all the excitement of a new game. Our quick verdict The Witcher 3 was already firmly in the conversation as one of the best RPGs of all time, and this major update years after its release only enhances its lustre. If you've never played it and you have an Xbox Series X or a PS5, a new lease of life means it's the perfect opportunity to lose a month to CD Projekt Red's vision of a grim medieval world.
