LG has announced [the LG ArtCool Gallery](, an air conditioner that has a 27-inch LCD screen, able to display images or family photos. Why does it matter? LG loves to drip-feed its [CES]( plans over the holiday season, often with a different product revealed each day. What's my take? LG is a market leader in air conditioning, but those units are generally boring. The LG ArtCool Gallery is going to tackle that with a great bit of convergence - an aircon unit with a display! Now, rather than just having a blob in your room, it can be a digital art gallery, with images coming either from LG, or sent from your smartphone. Yes, CES is coming, so be prepared for some wacky tech heading into your inbox over the coming weeks!  Asus teases the launch of 3D OLED laptop at CES 2023 ASUS What's happened? Asus might be preparing to launch a new notebook with a [3D OLED display]( at CES 2023. Why does it matter? Asus has started a teaser campaign, confirming its launch event and dropping a few hints about what to expect. What's my take? When I saw this Magic Eye image, it took me right back. Just take a look and - yes selectively refocus your eyes - the words "3D OLED" will pop out. What, you mean you can't do that? I can't see that straight 3D visuals are something that people will want - but perhaps this is a bigger play into the metaverse, opening the door to 3D-style imagery on both ends of a video call for example. Or perhaps windows are just going to be deeply layered to be more visually distinctive... So when E Ink-based "paper tablets" started making an appearance, it felt as though it would only be a matter of time until Amazon got involved there too. With the Kindle Scribe, it's done exactly that, launching a much bigger Kindle than previous models, and equipping it with the ability to take notes, make to-do lists or sketch using a stylus. Our quick verdict Kindle's first reading and writing tablet is a strong start from Amazon, but still has room to improve its usefulness. With more pen and notebook styles, and better third party service integration, it could be a killer device.
