Apple expanded its safety features in September 2022 with the announcement of Emergency SOS via Satellite - [and we've tried it out](. Why does it matter? The [Emergency SOS via Satellite]( feature enables users that live in a compatible country (US, UK, France, Germany and Ireland) and own one of the iPhone 14 models to contact emergency services in areas where they don't have cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity. What's my take? We tried out Emergency SOS via Satellite on a demo iPhone model in Richmond Park in the UK to see how the system worked. The Emergency SOS via Satellite feature is super easy to use in our experience. You can't really do it wrong as you are guided step-by-step through the entire process. This is obviously very important as you may have limited use of your hands or you may be struggling to concentrate. The thing to remember is that it does take longer than sending normal messages, so you'll need a little more patience. POCKET-LINT What's happened? Think about Alfa Romeo and you probably think about men buying a sporty car which always breaks down. On one hand, you have great brand heritage and on the other, perhaps limited appeal. Alfa is keen to change this and while great models like the Guilia helped boost Alfa's appeal to those core customers - the company has realised how it's only appealing to a small subsection of the buying market. Our quick verdict The Alfa Romeo Tonale expands the brand into the hottest-selling segment of the market, widening the appeal to more customers. But there are fierce rivals here and this compact SUV doesn't feel smooth to drive at slow speeds, while it also feels underpowered once you get going. It's an attractive car, but it's let down by the actual driving experience.
