The [EE Pocket-lint Awards 2022]( took place on 30 November, with the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones taking the coveted Product of the Year Award. Why does it matter? The EE Pocket-lint Awards celebrate the best of tech from the past 12 months, highlighting outstanding products across 20 categories. What's my take? Things might be a little slow on Pocket-lint.com today, following our annual awards event last night. Samsung's HDR10+ format is making gains in gaming and streaming, bringing better quality visuals to more content. Why does it matter? The HDR format is designed to rival Dolby Vision, now giving content creators more options. What's my take? Dolby Vision has an advantage in the HDR wars, with that big Dolby name that many TV manufacturers have scrambled to include. HDR10+ doesn't have quite the same brand cache, but is widely supported, finding its way into the latest [Apple TV 4K box](, as well as the Apple TV streaming app on Samsung TVs. Amazon Fire TV offers the HDR10+ gaming standard, as do Nvidia GeForce RTX cards, meaning there are many ways to get the best out of your HDR10+ content.
