Rumours suggest that Samsung could be the next phone manufacturer to offer satellite communication. Why does it matter? Using satellites can provide connectivity in areas other signals can't reach. What's my take? The iPhone 14 was one of the first devices to launch with [satellite communication](, but it looks like Samsung could offer similar in the Galaxy S23. While it's only Apple (in the US and Europe) and Huawei (in China) offering this sort of emergency service, the addition of Samsung will potentially open up the market to millions of Android users. We're expecting the floodgates to open in 2023: satellite communication will likely be a theme of CES and we're expecting many to jump on board as these services get established. Somehow people sometimes seem to forget about Pokémon when they think about the biggest gaming franchises in the world - it's hardly a sleeping giant, but a giant it most certainly is. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have enjoyed an absolutely massive launch in terms of sales figures, as the series continues its transition to an open-world structure. How do they hold up to extended play, though? Our quick verdict The latest Pokémon generation takes another step forward, but its performance issues are unacceptable and serve to highlight that it's lagging behind on the visual front in a major way.
