Honda and Sony announced a joint venture in March with the aim to build future electric vehicles together. Now it seems their endeavours could include PlayStation 5 gaming hardware as part of their entertainment systems. Why does it matter? Sony Honda Mobility, as the new firm is called, plans to release its first car in 2025 with Honda in charge of design and Sony the service and entertainment platform. As well as gaming, the aim is to focus on music and movies for a best-in-class in-car experience. What's my take? This might sound like the stuff of weird concepts that never make it into the real world. However, I actually have some experience of this already. When I drove the [Honda e]( at launch, the car manufacturer was really keen to point out that it had an HDMI input and a power plug, so you could connect a console. Akinori Myou, who led the interior design, wanted it to be as much like a lounge as possible - and smashed it out of the park. We're sure that Sony will want integrate the PlayStation experience, and from what I've seen previously from Honda, I'd expect it to be fully onboard.  Apple and Google to be investigated in the UK in relation to mobile browsers and cloud gaming POCKET-LINT What's happened? The UK's [CMA has announced]( that it's going to be investigating Apple and Google in relation to cloud gaming and browsers. It feels like round two of the Epic Games cases we've seen recently. Why does it matter? "We want to make sure that UK consumers get the best new mobile data services, and that UK developers can invest in innovative new apps," said Sarah Cardell, interim chief executive of the Competitions and Markets Authority. What's my take? Apple and Google dominate the mobile space, controlling most of the access from mobile devices to online services. There have long been complaints that the conditions imposed by those platforms hamper innovation and restrict customer choice. The big issue here is that Apple and Google want a big slice of revenue generated from mobile games and that might deter developers from offering services. We've already seen Epic Games battle this out with Apple in the courts and this is likely to be another ruling that points to conditions that stifle competition. But, whether that results in a change remains to be seen - I suspect that it will get a lot of headlines, but not result in significant benefit for normal consumers.  A MESSAGE FROM OUR SPONSOR Devolo WiFi 6 3000 and 5400 Repeaters - wireless internet where you want it DEVOLO IMost of our home activities today revolve around the internet. When Sonic Frontiers was first unveiled, Sega was very clearly going for a certain mood - one that aped the hugely successful The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with plinking pianos and wide-open fields to race through. That's an impression and style that has made it through to the finished game, but it's fair to say that it also brings with it some tonal whiplash compared to other parts of Frontiers. Our quick verdict Sonic Frontiers is a bizarre melange that comes together in moments but falls apart in others. For series fans, it's worth checking out, but we don't see it convincing many new players. [Read our review.](  In Case You Missed it The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 3 [release date has been revealed](. --- The five-star Samsung S95B TV is at its [lowest-ever price for Black Friday](. --- There's a $150 discount on the excellent Pixel 6a, [now only $299 on Amazon]( - a great price for a cracking mid-range phone.  From The Gear Loop ALESSANDRO SIMONETTA/UNSPLASH Our writer heads to the Italian Alps to tackle his first 4,000m climb.
