Samsung [might be getting a special version]( of Qualcomm's recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and it might mean no more Exynos for Europeans. Why does it matter? We'd always expected Samsung to use Qualcomm's latest and greatest chip when the [Galaxy S23]( lineup arrives next year, but leaker Ice Universe suggests that there might be a surprise or two around the corner. What's my take? Samsung likes to have something special and with plenty of manufacturers lining up to offer the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 hardware, this news might not come as any surprise. If the leak proves accurate, it might be that Samsung is going to be able to tweak the hardware it uses - perhaps so that it can claim that its version is slightly better than rivals. There's some debate over whether this will apply to Europe, the US or all versions of the Galaxy S23 - but with a launch expected in February 2023, there isn't long to wait.  Apple could be working on a glass MacBook POCKET-LINT What's happened? Updated [Apple patents]( suggest that Apple could be working towards a MacBook with a glass typing surface. Why does it matter? Apple is always on the lookout for ways to improve devices and shifting to a glass surface might be one of the things we see. What's my take? Glass is an interesting material because it's durable, can have some silky smooth finishes, and has the advantage of transparency. While much of the patent focuses on how to reduce the hard impact of typing on a glass screen, there are all sorts of things you could do with glass keys. How about a keyboard where the characters on the keys change when using special functions or when in caps? That could be an interesting new dynamic, giving you a live keyboard to enhance the experience.  A MESSAGE FROM OUR SPONSOR Boost your sci-fi collection with this life-sized Darth Vader bust BRICKER BUILDS If you're a big fan of Lego or sci-fi classics, we can bet you've got a collection of memorabilia going to honour them.
