Seasoned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has outlined the [benefits of iPhone moving to USB-C](, which is expected to happen in 2023. Why does it matter? The change appears to have been prompted by an EU directive, but the universality will benefit all. What's my take? While people will de-cry the move as meddling by the EU, Lightning is now a dated technology and, as Kuo outlines, the support for higher data rates through USB-C will lead to many benefits. But, I suspect that not everyone will really see the advantage in higher data transfer rates because relatively few people move data on and off their device by cable. What might be simpler to get to grips with, however, is that the charger you have for many other devices will work with your iPhone and vice versa. With iPad and some MacBook models using it, it's one less thing to think about.  Qualcomm Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 chip could finally mean stylish AR glasses POCKET-LINT What's happened? Qualcomm has unveiled the [Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1](, which has been built from the ground up, specifically for augmented reality (AR). Why does it matter? Qualcomm is hoping the AR2 Gen 1 chipset will allow its partners to create thinner, sleeker AR glasses that you might actually want to wear. What's my take? We're hearing more and more about AR and Qualcomm has been producing hardware to power such devices for a long time. Wearable computing has specific demands and the focus here is on data connectivity and efficiency, because with wearable devices, you can't afford a big battery in the design. What's more interesting is the expression of interest from partners, including the likes of Niantic. [Pokemon Go]( is the best surviving implementation of AR to date - bringing that naturally into your eyeline through a slim, wearable, set of glasses. French hi-fi brand Devialet has something of a reputation for stylish, high-quality (and pricey) speakers that pack a punch. However, you've never been able to take that sound on the go with you - until now. The Devialet Mania is the result of four years' hard graft, cramming all of Devialet's hi-fi know-how, design chops and 95dB of volume into a speaker that's only a shade bigger than an Amazon Echo. It even packs Alexa, to boot. Our quick verdict The Devialet Mania is a small speaker that packs a punch. Its hi-fi roots are clear, but this is not a speaker for purists - there are lashings of bass and a rich, full-bodied sound that commands centre stage wherever it is. [Read our review.](  In Case You Missed it Elon Musk's [next Twitter Blue relaunch]( comes on 29 November --- [PlayStation VR2 pre-orders are live]( but it isn't that simple --- Fitbit Versa 4 is just $149.95, [with an $80 saving at the moment](.
