We will be getting [new Apple Macs early next year]( according to renowned Bloomberg journalist and Apple commentator, Mark Gurman. Why does it matter? The company was originally rumoured to introduce a couple of new devices soon after or alongside its recent iPad launches, but they failed to materialise. Gurman suggests they will be announced in March 2023 instead. What's my take? The launch of any new MacBook is a big deal, with great claims made about performance gains and new efficiencies. It does sometimes feel as though Apple is always launching new Macs, however. While much remains the same, Apple is updating hardware, introducing the M2 chip - recently seen in iPads - but not yet in the full range of MacBooks. In fact, if you look at the current line-up, it's confusing. There's M2 alongside M1 for the MacBook Air, or M2 alongside M1 Max and M1 Pro for the MacBook Pro - with a mixture of display designs, some with the notch and some without. It sort of feels as though there's a confusing array of options - but everything might become more logical in 2023. Musk wants Twitter to charge users $20 per month for verification UNSPLASH What's happened? Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, owner of Tesla, SpaceX, and now Twitter, has told the social network's employees that they must lock verified badges behind a paywall within a week. Why does it matter? "The whole verification process is being revamped right now," Musk tweeted. What's my take? It seems that Elon Musk's first move is to find a way to monetise Twitter, but we're not sure this is the solution. The verified tick is an indicator that the person sending the tweets is who they say they are - and it's designed to reassure users that they are following legitimate accounts. But, if there's a $20 monthly fee, a lot of people will just opt not to do that. Big brands or celebrities may well be happy to pay, but lots of individuals won't - and that's going to make it a little harder to see if you're legitimately talking to that doctor, scientist or journalist you trust, or someone posing as them. Lenovo Tab P12 Pro review: Big screen for smaller budgets POCKET-LINT What's happened? Want a plus-size tablet? The two headline-stealing series are the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and the iPad Pro 12.9. The Lenovo Tab P12 Pro is another option. Itâs a chunk cheaper than its rivals too, which is basically the angle here, folks. All the important tech, for a bit less cash. Our quick verdict The Lenovo Tab P12 Pro makes a lot of sense if youâre here for digital artwork and the bundled full-size Lenovo stylus feels great. Lenovo has also made sure no element feels left behind. Well, aside from the headphone jack, which is left out completely. The Lenovo Tab P12 Pro speakers are great, the screen is punchy and the ultra-slim design helps you forget quite how big a footprint this thing has, compared to classic tablet designs. Weâre not seeing new standards set here, but if you can find the Lenovo at the right price online, go for it.
