Google surprised everyone and [announced a selection of updates]( to its Nest line - two days before its official Made by Google launch event. Why does it matter? There's a new Nest Doorbell Wired, Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Renew scheme, and refreshed Google Home app. What's my take? I'm stumped about Google's product launch strategy. Having revealed the Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch at Google I/O, its new Nest devices were unceremoniously announced via a blog post and shared on Twitter. The [Nest Doorbell Wired]( replaces the Nest Hello with a new design and upgraded camera, while the [Nest Wifi Pro]( will boost the range, and give you Matter and WiFi 6E support. Then there's [Nest Renew]( a US service designed to help Nest users save energy. Finally, there's an updated [Google Home app](. This is probably the biggest news, as the app has been staggering under the weight of tasks it's trying to master for a long time. The new app should add new skills, additional controls and easier navigation to empower your smart home. Xiaomi 12T Pro launches with a 200MP camera POCKET-LINT What's happened? Xiaomi has launched a new family of flagship devices, adding a spec bump and camera improvements [to the 12-series]( and giving them that 'T' label. Why does it matter? The headline feature is a move to a 200-megapixel camera sensor, but there's also upgraded core hardware to see you through till the launch of the Xiaomi 13. What's my take? Xiaomi is a really aggressive brand, it releases a lot of phones and it can get confusing. But, as a brand it's also making huge gains in the smartphone space. You don't have to wait a year for a new device as you do with Samsung or Apple - because there are updated devices coming mid-year too. That means Xiaomi always feels like it's offering the latest hardware, being the most experimental and taking risks to deliver a better experience. There's something exciting in that, especially if you're a smartphone fan and always want the latest thing. But, it can also be confusing - particularly if Xiaomi's most recent device isn't launched at the same time globally, which has happened in the past. Cam Bunton was out in Munich at the launch and got his hands on the new flagship. - [Xiaomi 12T Pro initial review: Pixel perfect?]( Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro X review: Powerful, portable and pretty POCKET-LINT What's happened? We've been longtime fans of Lenovo's laptops and, in particular, the Yoga Slim models. They tend to offer an enticing blend of portability, performance and affordability. Lenovo's range is expansive and includes configurable options at just about every price, but with so many models to choose from, it can make things a little confusing. We're testing the 14-inch Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro X, the name is a bit of a mouthful, but it looks to be a strong contender for content creation on-the-go. Our quick verdict The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro X is a powerful laptop with gorgeous lightweight construction. If you're looking to do some serious content creation on the go, this model shouldn't be ignored.
