Roku has announced a [couple of new products]( for the US market - a wireless subwoofer to match its Streambar, and a new version of the Express streaming device. Why does it matter? The Roku Wireless Bass is all-new. It can be paired with a [Roku Streambar]( (including the Streambar Pro), Roku Wireless Speakers, or Roku TV Wireless Soundbar to add extra bass levels to your sound setup. What's my take? Everyone needs a system these days and Roku has slowly been building up the option to move itself from a streaming box company, to the supplier of all your home entertainment hardware. It's a good move too - the last thing you want when you've bought something like the Streambar, is to find that you have no options to expand the audio if and when you want more. The fact that there's now a $129.99 subwoofer you can add on is great. This is going to be an ideal holiday gift to boost the performance of your home cinema system. A&Ultima SP3000 is Astell&Kern's new £3,800 flagship portable music player ASTELL&KERN What's happened? Astell&Kern has launched a flagship portable music player, the A&Ultima SP3000. Why does it matter? If you’ve got £3,800 burning a hole in your pocket and a penchant for the best music quality money can buy, [then take a look](. What's my take? If we wind the clock back 15 years, MP3 players were the must-have gadget to make the most of the digital music revolution. Smartphones destroyed that market and real audio companies have long been telling us that it's all a bad thing. That there's still a segment of the market where a £3,800 portable music player exists fills me with joy. The opulence, the lavishness. I've seen this player in the flesh and it feels like you'd expect a £3,800 music player to. Whether you'd be happy to carry it around is a different question - not just because of the value, but because it's also a substantial chunk of tech. Sony Xperia 10 IV review: It's a hard pass POCKET-LINT What's happened? Sony's smartphone lineup has slimmed down over recent years, leaving us with a flagship device - the Xperia 1 - a compact version of that flagship - the Xperia 5 - and this, the Xperia 10. It is designed as a mid-range device, carrying Sony Mobile's hallmark design with a 21:9 display, sombre build and aims to bring that Sony experience to those on a slightly lower budget. Our quick verdict The Sony Xperia 10 IV is a compact device with the advantage of waterproofing and some high-end features. They include a telephoto camera and support for high-res music thanks to LDAC - but it lacks power, the camera is poor and the experience suffers as a result. At this price, there are plenty of better options.
