Get them to [sign up here.]( OnePlus boss teases manufacturer's first foldable PETE LAU (TWITTER) What's happened? OnePlus co-founder and CEO, Pete Lau, [released a couple of images]( via his Twitter account that hint at the manufacturer's first foldable phone. Why does it matter? First rumoured in April this year, the OnePlus foldable could end up being a rebadged Oppo Find N. However, considering Lau posted two pictures of a new-looking hinge system, it might even be something a bit more than that. What's my take? OnePlus has rather lost its identity over the last few years, ever since it was brought fully under the BBK Electronics umbrella. The quirky mantle originally established by Lau and Carl Pei has long dissipated and more recently taken up by Pei's Nothing brand instead. That's why it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the hinge mechanism tweeted by Pete Lau turns out to be for a rebadged Oppo Find N. Or, considering his input in the original, a follow-up that doesn't even sport the OnePlus name. Either way though, it's continuing proof that the foldable market is maturing enough for multiple devices to hit market in the coming months. We've all been talking about it for years, but it finally seems that consumers have finally been well and truly won over by the form factor. Apple is set to increase the amount of ads on your iPhone POCKET-LINT What's happened? Apple is stepping up plans to expand the breadth of its advertising on users' iPhones, according to a [new report](. Why does it matter? it comes from veteran industry reporter Mark Gurman, who explains in his latest newsletter that internal personnel movements mean Apple's ads team is being more highly prioritised than in recent years. What's my take? In all honesty, it is inevitable that advertising will find its way onto other Apple platforms outside of Stocks and Apple News. The Maps, Books and Podcasts apps could soon feature ads, it is said. However, it is likely that the Cupertino firm will tread lightly when introducing commercial content, with search results being promoted higher up the page and the like, rather than incessant pop-ups.
