Good morning! Get them to [sign up here.]( Samsung reveals the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro and Buds 2 Pro SAMSUNG What's happened? At a bumper Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung has revealed updates to its folding phones, watches and earbuds. Why does it matter? These will be the hot devices that are talked about for the next year - or until the launch of the Galaxy S23. What's my take? Samsung isn't shy when it comes to launching new devices and anyone following the story of Galaxy Unpacked yesterday will have been overwhelmed with news. There are incremental updates: the Flip 4 updates the Flip 3 and it does look better, so should continue to be desirable. The Fold 4 makes the Fold more premium and closer to Galaxy S with a camera update. The Watch 5 updates the Watch 4 - but it's really the Watch 5 Pro that's new and exciting, with a pitch to sporty types and offering more advanced features. Then there's the Buds 2 Pro, which build on the great performance of existing Buds and introduce Hi-Res music support. Fortunately, we've broken it all down for you to digest right here: - [Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 initial review]( - [Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 initial review]( - [Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro initial review]( - [Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 initial review]( - [Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are smarter, smaller - but come with a catch]( Google TV will get fitness tracking, wireless audio streaming and more POCKET-LINT What's happened? Last month, Google held a partner event behind closed doors. At this meeting, the company discussed plans for the [future of Android TV and Google TV devices](. Why does it matter? Google is looking to integrate fitness-tracking features by capturing real-time data from a FitBit or Wear OS device, which can then be displayed on the screen. What's my take? Google has its fingers in a lot of pies, but the fitness pie (can that even be a thing?) is relatively new. So how do you make best use of all this data? You figure out better ways of using it across the platform. That's exactly what happened with Apple Fitness and the Apple Watch, and this latest plan looks like a good way for Google to use Fitbit, its recent addition. That will potentially give rise to a Google Fitness experience, part of wider plans that Google has to make your TV the biggest display in your house and get it doing smarter things. Google TV hasn't been at the forefront of Google's attention, but it seems that the huge rise in use thanks to the pandemic has pulled it into focus again. While Samsung's Z Flip might be seen as the lesser of the Z folding models, it outsells the Z Fold by a considerable margin. That makes the Galaxy Z Flip 4 an important update for Samsung, as this is likely to be the volume seller from Samsung's folding phone family. Our quick verdict The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 makes a few important updates to this popular folding phone, resulting in a better-looking device, and bringing the power up to date. There's novelty in the design and many will love the customisation that it offers, while the upgraded camera will likely appeal too. But the reality is that these phone displays just don't last as long - and that's something you need to consider when buying.
