Get them to [sign up here.]( The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 looks like it will be the thinnest foldable so far UNIVERSEICE What's happened? Seasoned leaker Ice Universe [posted a video on Twitter]( showing the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 in all of its slim, shiny glory. Why does it matter? The video doesn't give away too much, but, as the tweet says, it's looking like it will be incredibly thin at around just 5mm. What's my take? With Samsung just about to launch the [Galaxy Z Fold 4]( it's no surprise that a rival device has suddenly "leaked", wanting to show how thin it is. The biggest drawback of a folding phone is how thick it is when folded - so thin is definitely in when it comes to aesthetics and it looks like Xiaomi is going to pursue this avenue to help it stand out. The downside of being thin are the compromises elsewhere: there's less space for battery and there's less space for cooling, which can compromise the user experience. Folding phones are still in their infancy, so you can expect many years of competition to come in this space.
