Get them to [sign up here.]( Google Maps' share location feature will now notify you when your friends arrive GOOGLE What's happened? A [new notification system]( is being added to the shared location feature in Google Maps. Why does it matter? It will let you send people a notification when you arrive at a chosen point. What's my take? "Let me know when you get home" is often the parting phrase at the end of a night and now Google will do that for you. You might be aware that Google knows where you are pretty much all the time thanks to location services and the location history that it fuels. Hidden in Google Maps is also location sharing, where you can allow contacts to see where you are on the map - as well as the charge level of your phone. The new notification means you don't have to think about alerting friends on arrival, Google Maps will be able to do that for you. And, while it's an obvious benefit for those travelling home at night, it's as useful for people heading out to a busy location, so those you are meeting know when you've arrived. I've used the route sharing provided by services like Waze and Citymapper on many occasions and another option in Google Maps will certainly be welcomed. Who will win the Pinocchio wars, Netflix or Disney+? DISNEY / NETFLIX What's happened? Two of the leading streaming services will [release a Pinocchio movie]( in the coming months - Disney+ in September, Netflix to follow in December. Why does it matter? Disney+ and Netflix will duke it out this year on what is set to be one of the most fierce battlegrounds yet. Yep, they will soon be embroiled in what we're calling the "Pinocchio wars". What's my take? With an abundance of streaming services pushing an abundance of content, we didn't think we'd see the day that they were pushing the same content. Well, not exactly the same - as Disney is going to be releasing a "live action" version (shudder) of Pinocchio, while Netflix's version will be animated (double shudder). But, have we reached the point where we've run out of original ideas and the future of entertainment will be different interpretations of the same old story? I can't help feeling that Netflix's Pinocchio is deeply, deeply, creepy, so surely Disney will retain the crown in this content battle. Beeline Velo 2 review: Streamlined city slicker POCKET-LINT What's happened? London is many things, but an easy city to cycle around is not one of them. A handlebar-mounted GPS, then, could be a great addition - but not every cyclist craves the typical [bike computer]( which often includes an array of intimidating metrics and stats. That's where the Beeline Velo 2 comes in. Our quick verdict Using the Beeline Velo 2 made cycling around London way simpler for us, and that's a high compliment. It's a superb addition to your handlebars if you're an urban cyclist looking for help getting around, rather than something that can provide incredibly detailed metrics. [Read our review](.
