Get them to [sign up here.]( BMW wants you to pay monthly fees for luxury features Pocket-lint What's happened? BMW has [unveiled pricing schemes]( for some of its in-car subscriptions, including some fairly basic things, like heated seats. Why does it matter? The BMW ConnectedDrive shop showcases a range of options that you can add to your BMW, many of which will simply enable features for hardware that's already built-in for your car. What's my take? BMW has been toying with the idea of offering subscriptions for features on cars for some time. Basically, it means you can pay to turn on hardware that's already installed to get access to something on the extras list. This trend was started by Tesla, who provided the option to unlock additional driving range, meaning shorter-range cars had been driving around with the bigger battery all the time, they just didn't know it. BMW's positive spin is that you can simply buy your car and then subscribe only when you need those features. That might see you pay $18 / £15 a month for heated seats through winter, but cancel through summer. Of course, people always forget to unsubscribe and that's probably what BMW is (literally) banking on. What does this mean in a wider context? It probably means people will opt for brands where you get more as standard, like Hyundai and Kia. After all, a BMW is a premium model, surely you shouldn't have to subscribe for heated seats? Motorola teases the Razr 2022 ahead of launch Weibo What's happened? Motorola has given us our [first official look]( at the Razr 2022. Why does it matter? One image shows the device unfolded, with its sizable interior display on view. The other shows the device shut. What's my take? Ah, the Motorola Razr. If ever there was a classic flip phone, the Moto Razr is it. I still have the one I bought in 2004 - and remarkably it still works (I've replaced the battery a few times, naturally). That Motorola attempted to bring this classic device back to life as a folding phone was no surprise, but it's really not been able to compete with Samsung - with its [Z Flip 4]( expected next month. However, it does look like Motorola is taking the segment more seriously now, removing the chin and making the device more competitive. Moto might also be planning to launch it close to Samsung's launch event - so within the next couple of months we could have a pair of compelling folding phones. - [Catch up on all the Moto Razr 2022 rumours]( A MESSAGE FROM SPONSOR Claim amazing Prime Day discounts on Waterdrop reverse osmosis water filtration systems Waterdrop Waterdrop, one of the world’s leading water purification brands, is here to simplify the path towards clean water. To say there's been hype around the Nothing phone (1) would be an understatement. However, while drip-fed leaks, snappy social media posts and an exclusive launch via StockX have helped play their part in building to a crescendo, the real test for Nothing begins now. Our quick verdict First impressions of the Nothing phone (1) are really positive. There is something different about this phone and, certainly, it's in a position to shake up the mid-range market. What really comes through, however, is the quality of the build, the interesting design, and the clean Android experience. We need to investigate further, but there's certainly plenty to be excited about so far.
