Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled a successor to its critically acclaimed Px7 wireless ANC headphones. Why does it matter? The Px7 S2 over-ears come with improved active noise cancellation technology, with a new algorithm to better block out ambient sounds. The microphones for voice calling have been improved too, with a digital sound processor for clarity. What's my take? The ANC headphone market is getting crowded and that means manufacturers need to stay on top of the latest technologies and trends, else they might get left behind. And so, just two years after the first Px7 headphones, we've got an upgraded model. We've seen this tactic from the likes of Sony before, but it now looks like rivals are upping their game to ensure they stay relevant. Thankfully for B&W, it looks like the speedier than usual update has paid off. Our senior news editor, Rik, who's been testing a pair, has this to say: "Bowers & Wilkins is known for its exemplary audio performance, but the Px7 S2 shows it is rapidly catching up in the technology and comfort stakes, too. However, it has mainly been designed to be the "perfect partner" for the HTC Vive Flow virtual reality glasses. What's my take? There was once a time when HTC made the flagship phones to get. Over a decade later and the company is back, so to speak, offering a mid-ranger that doesn't seem to really offer anything you can't get on the market already. How times have changed.
