Get them to [sign up here.]( It's WWDC day - and we're expecting to see a new MacBook Air announced Pocket-lint What's happened? Apple's annual WWDC conference happens later today, with its keynote expected to unveil the transition to [iOS]( 16 along with its other platforms - but we're expecting some new hardware too. Why does it matter? WWDC does sometimes also offer a chance for Apple to unveil products, and there have [been rumours]( for months that it'll show off a total redesign of the MacBook Air this year. What's my take? While a lot is made about the MacBook Pro, I've always been a bigger fan of Apple's other models - the (now seemingly defunct) MacBook and the MacBook Air, which can offer a much better proposition to casual users. It feels like Apple has been pushing the Pro angle much more of late, and while there's been no question around the power and performance of these models, it does sometimes feel as though the middle of the market is less well represented. A new MacBook Air could reinforce that segment, bring some new features, like MagSafe charging and perhaps faster charging speeds, with rumours of a tweak in design too. - [Apple WWDC 2022: When is it? Plus how to watch and what to expect]( BMW iX1 is a compact electric crossover, loaded with tech BMW What's happened? BMW has [announced the third-gen BMW X1]( but now there's an electric version - the BMW iX1. Why does it matter? It's a great "my first [electric car]( for anyone who is already a BMW fan. What's my take? BMW has been influential in electric cars for much longer than many people remember - with the BMW i3 being one of the first bespoke electric cars. The BMW iX1 is less bespoke - it looks the same as the combustion model - and that might help it appeal to those who want something that feels a little more normal than the BMW i3 did. But this electric car has a suitably modern interior - and that's likely to help it appeal to those wanting a compact, but premium, electric crossover. It's likely to rival the [Mercedes EQA]( and the [Audi Q4 e-tron]( - and we think there will be plenty of demand. Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD review Pocket-lint What's happened? Robot vacuum cleaners are proving to be increasingly popular in smart homes - and Miele wants in on the action. The company's latest flagship vac - the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD - comes with the novelty feature of a live image feed and the promise of long-lasting, powerful cleaning. Our quick verdict The Miele Scout RX3 is a good cleaner let down by terrible mapping - it has no idea where it is, it can't handle the slightest change in location and it's fiddly to enact anything that involves that map. At this price, the performance needs to be much better. That's a big 28% discount for the battery-powered, HDR video doorbell, with three hours of free video history.
