Stellantis, the parent company of major car brands like Jeep, Fiat and Citroen, has [said]( that the cloud is key for future in-car experiences. It represents a significant push for an automotive industry that has, to date, struggled to match the speed of tech innovation outside of its remit. Why does it matter? "It hasn't been easy for car manufacturers," the company's CTO, Ned Curic, told me for the Pocket-lint Podcast. "In fact it's been super hard to do that and no car manufacturer has done a good job in the past decade to … keep up with all these rapid changes." What's my take? This makes logical sense. We've all become used to regular updates on our phones, laptops, and games consoles, that bring with them bug fixes and new features, so why not our cars too? And, if that means that they, like our other devices, are constantly improving then I'm all for that. It's an experience Tesla drivers will know all too well. Now it looks like the rest of the industry is about to catch up. "We can change these experiences in a cabin in a more rapid fashion, do it in the cloud and then mirror that inside the vehicle," Curic added, with a note that there will be quarterly and, in some cases, weekly updates to keep in-car experiences fresh. The upshot? Get ready, in the not too distant future, to spend 25 minutes waiting for your car to update its software in the same way you have to with your phone or games console from time to time. - [Listen to the full interview in this week's Pocket-lint podcast]( Google Street View now shows historical images of locations Google What's happened? As well as show you images of what different locations look like now, Google Street View can [now show you what they looked like in the past](. Why does it matter? When you are looking at a Street View image of a place, you will find a new "see more dates" link. Tap on that and you can see different images taken by Street View vehicles up to the last 15 years. What's my take? Literally, a trip down memory lane. On paper, the focus of the Astell&Kern UW100 earbuds is on providing sound quality that isn't compromised by noise cancellation. Our quick verdict These earbuds sound just fabulous in the right environment, more than making up for the lack of ANC. They're probably not the best option for travelling, but we do also think the sound is as impressive as earbuds can get right now.
