Get them to [sign up here.]( EA allegedly in buyout talks with Apple, Amazon and Disney EA What's happened? EA is looking for a buyer or a merger, according to [rumours]( over the weekend, with talks had with Disney, Apple, Amazon and Comcast-NBCUniversal. Why does it matter? The games industry has experienced significant consolidation in recent times and this looks, if true, to be the next big name that could be swallowed up by a bigger player. What's my take? I'm sure there are plenty that would be interested in EA's vast, 40-year old gaming catalogue. After all, it covers sports, Star Wars, The Sims, Battlefield, Apex Legends, and plenty other big selling franchises. And, for a sports broadcaster like Comcast-NBCUniversal, you can see the immediate opportunities for the popular EA Sports; for Disney, there's the back catalogue of Star Wars titles; and for Apple or Amazon there's the chance to get further into games publishing quickly without having to build up a brand from scratch. I suspect some of the companies being bandied around might be EA fishing for interested parties rather than a given, but it will be interesting to see what the fate of the publisher is in the coming months. Samsung's Pokémon-themed Galaxy Buds case could be the coolest collectible ever Samsung What's happened? Samsung has [announced]( a Pokémon-themed Poké Ball case for its Galaxy Buds true wireless earbuds. Why does it matter? Sadly though, the limited edition case for the Galaxy Buds wireless earbuds isn't scheduled for release outside South Korea. What's my take? This is so cute, but it has been done before by [Razer]( and I bet it's a pain to fit in your pockets. Still, doesn't stop me wanting one.
