Get them to [sign up here.]( Sky Stream puck to be a standalone internet TV device, for full Sky TV over broadband Sky What's happened? Sky is to offer its [Sky Stream puck streaming device]( as a standalone product for those who would prefer to get Sky TV over an internet connection rather than satellite. Why does it matter? Customers with Sky Glass will continue to be able to use Sky Stream pucks around the house for a multiroom experience, but it will also operate independently of the TV. What's my take? In all honesty, this is an announcement I expected during the Sky Glass launch - perhaps even instead of. But, as they say, it's better late than never. Sky Glass is great for those who want an all-in-one entertainment package - TV, Dolby Atmos sound system, Sky TV and streaming services in the same device. However, those already happy with their existing TV or want to go higher-end with the panel itself, yet cannot have Sky Q for whatever reason, were left out. On its release "later this year", the Sky Stream puck will give them the opportunity to have the full Sky TV experience too - streamed over broadband rather than satellite. It has the potential to add many more customers to Sky's user base, especially as many can't have a dish on their roofs because of restrictions or personal choice. I do wonder how it will affect Sky's Now streaming service in the long run (although that'll remain a contract-free alternative) and we don't yet know how much the Sky Stream puck plan will cost. But, it's a wise step forward for the firm for sure. PlayStation VR2 delayed until 2023, says analyst Sony Interactive Entertainment What's happened? It looks like we might have to wait to get our hands on Sony's next version of its PlayStation VR headset - a new report suggests that it [may have been delayed into 2023](. Why does it matter? The latest intelligence comes from Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants. He says that the headset will be using AMOLED panels with impressive pixel density for great sharpness, but also that we shouldn't expect it this year. What's my take? I've been saying that the PSVR2 won't be available until 2023 for quite some time anyway, especially after the company behind its eye-tracking hardware revealed it was still in negotiations this February gone. Sony allowed some developers to trial a prototype version at the recent Games Developers Conference in San Francisco (with plenty of very positive reports) but with the ongoing chip shortage and supply lines still hit by the pandemic, I could never see the consumer model being made in enough bulk for a full release this year. We'll just have to be patient a bit longer.
