"Honda is planning to launch 30 EV models globally by 2030, with a full lineup from commercial-use mini-EVs to flagship-class models," it said in a statement. It is also "planning for production volume of more than 2 million units annually". What's my take? Honda has been busy signing partnerships to enhance its electric vehicle output and they seem to have accelerated plans significantly. GM is on board in the States, to help build many of the vehicles for that region at least, with two all-electric SUVs on the cards for 2024. They will be released under the Honda (an all-new Prologue SUV) and Acura brands. Then there is the new brand being formed with Sony, that will also result in EVs sporting Honda design and the tech giant's platform knowhow. In short, the Japanese car manufacturer wants to be more than ready for the electrification push at the end of the decade, not least the timely ban on sales of new petrol and diesel cars in the UK, Sonos acquisition could make future speakers much smaller Sonos What's happened? Sonos has made [an interesting acquisition]( buying a Dutch startup that has created incredibly compact and lightweight speaker drivers. Why does it matter? The purchase of Mayht for around $100 million could mean that, further down the line we could see smaller and lighter speakers from Sonos. What's my take? Sonos continues to adapt now that it has plenty of rivals in the multiroom speaker space. Who would have predicted the Ikea partnership or launch of a portable Bluetooth speaker from the brand? So this buyout of Mayht could bear even more interesting fruit. Sonos itself has said that the transducer technology will enable the firm "to take another leap forward in our product portfolio", so there will definitely be new hardware in mind. What won't change, I expect, is the core speaker range as there is no need to put lighter, smaller driver technology inside a quality speaker or soundbar. And, no matter how revolutionary, you won't get the same overall audio experience if you do. Still, this shows that Sonos is thinking ahead and I'm excited to see what it has planned.
