Get them to [sign up here.]( You'll soon be able to add a poll to WhatsApp chats Unsplash What's happened? WhatsApp [might be planning]( to add another useful feature to its chat app: the ability to create and run polls. That's according to a leaked screenshot of a work-in-progress addition. Why does it matter? Polling is a feature that Meta brought to Facebook Messenger a good while ago, so it'll be a welcome addition to WhatsApp. Especially so, given how many groups organise social events using its group chat options. What's my take? Do doesn't love a poll? It all seriousness though, it looks like Facebook - I mean Meta - is keen to give more functionality to WhatsApp beyond allowing you to just message your mates. For me, once you start making it a destination rather than merely a tool, that probably means other features will quickly follow... including ads. Amazon Music Unlimited also gets a price hike Amazon What's happened? Following price increases for Amazon Prime membership in the US, the [cost of Amazon Music Unlimited is going up]( too. Why does it matter? The price increase means that Prime subscribers are no longer getting a great discount. A Single Device subscription, available to Echo speaker and Fire TV users, will increase from $4 to $5 per month. What's my take? Everything else in your life seems to be going up in price, so streaming services are too - this isn't isolated to Amazon. Netflix and other subscription services have introduced price hikes in recent months as well, as they have to claw back the billions spent on bringing you all that amazing content over the last couple of years. The upshot is that, rather than have multiple subscription services, because you could, we might start to see people being a bit more picky about which streaming services they subscribe too. That's going to create two things in my mind: a more competitive landscape whereby the companies are fighting for our custom, and a more polarised one where you won't be expected to watch everything, which you probably have for the last couple of years. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.
