Get them to [sign up here.]( Apple confirms June WWDC 2022 as an online-only event once more Apple What's happened? Apple has announced it will hold its annual developer conference again this summer Why does it matter? WWDC 2022 is scheduled to kick off in June. It's once again an all-online affair, with no physical gathering due to the COVID-19 pandemic. WWDC 2020 and WWDC 2021 were both held digitally for the same reason. However, unlike those years, Apple plans to hold a separate viewing for developers and students at Apple Park to watch the keynote and other presentations. Space will be limited, of course. What's my take? Apple's annual dev conference is where the company gets to show us what's in store for its various operating systems - for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other Apple devices. It also traditionally announces the odd bit of hardware, such as a new Mac Pro. This year is likely to be no different. Apple will no doubt want to come out firing on all cylinders as the world exits the various restrictions and lockdowns imposed over the last two years and people return to their offices. It's also likely to capitalise on its continued efforts to blur the lines between its devices, in order to further join the dots within the Apple ecosystem. While the core operating systems are now about refinement rather than shiny, new features and services, there's still one big area in my mind that Apple has failed to crack: the smart home. Will this be the WWDC that changes that? We'll find out in June. - [Apple WWDC 2022: When is it? Peloton [announced]( Guide back in November 2021 and is now introducing the TV-connected camera designed for strength training to the UK, US, Canada and Australia. Why does it matter? Peloton Guide is designed to offer those interested in strength training the same immersive experience that the brand delivers through its Bike, Bike+ and Tread products. What's my take? Having a camera connected to your TV could be a lot more appealing than finding space for an exercise bike or treadmill in your home. Especially so if you're already a fan of doing exercise videos in front of your television. While this isn't the first time we've seen such a device from a fitness company, it does have the added benefit of a household name behind it. The question for me is whether it provides enough motivation to have you coming back for more each and every time. I know many Peloton users who love the experience, but I also know quite a few that have found their bikes turning into makeshift clothes dryers. Without that big lump of hardware in your living room / spare room / kitchen / home gym, will you feel guilty enough when you've missed a couple of classes to get back in the action? At least with the camera connected to your TV you'll have to stare at it while you drink that G&T and smash back a late night snack binge watching Below Deck.
