Get them to [sign up here.]( Nothing plans to let you sample its new phone's software without its new phone Nothing What's happened? Nothing announced that it plans to launch a smartphone called [Nothing phone (1)]( and in anticipation of its release you'll be able to sample Nothing OS via its [launcher]( that it's going to make available in April via the Play Store. Why does it matter? [The launcher]( is the home screen on an Android device and easy to install, so you can get a different feel to your home screen and apps tray. What's my take? Throwing out a launcher is a quick and easy way to engage Android users with a brand that, currently, barely exists. But Nothing's message runs a lot deeper than just this surface level, which is what a launcher is. It's about ecosystem and interoperability - and a Nothing experience that wants to be different. You won't get that from a launcher and in many ways, you're unlikely to get that from the phone either. It's how the phone behaves with other devices - which will be driven by something much deeper in the software - that will really let us know what Nothing has to offer. Nothing's founder - Carl Pei - successfully hyped up OnePlus when it launched and this looks like it's coming from the same playbook. It's a pitch to the customer base, a taste of things to come, without really giving much away. Google Play Store to lose movies and TV, being rehomed in Google TV Pocket-lint What's happened? Google has [announced]( plans to shuffle around its content offering - again - by removing movies and TV shows from the Google Play Store on Android. Why does it matter? The idea from Google is to simplify its services, by narrowing each app's content focus. That means Play Store will continue to be your shop for apps and games, but movies and TV will be rehomed in the Google TV app. What's my take? I wonder if Google will ever be able to offer an app or a service that lasts more than a couple of years without being rebranded, changed, or cancelled? Given this news, I suspect, the answer is still no. Kirby finally has a full 3D game from top to bottom in the same way Mario has previously. Our quick verdict We don't think you could want much more from a family game. Kirby's looking great in a game that feels like it could offer up a bold new future for the franchise. It's not especially challenging though - but that makes it ideal for younger gamers or fans of the franchise looking for a little light relief.
