Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has [announced]( that NFTs are coming to Instagram, although the details are still vague. Why does it matter? During a session at South By Southwest (SXSW) he revealed: "We're working on bringing NFTs to Instagram in the near term. I'm not ready to kind-of announce exactly what that's going to be today. But over the next several months, the ability to bring some of your NFTs in." What's my take? Sorry to break it to you, but before you think this is a chance to get rich quick, nobody wants an NFT of your lunch. BT Sport to trial smart ball in Premiership Rugby Cup to give viewers extra stats BT Sport What's happened? BT Sport has teamed with sports manufacturer Gilbert, Premiership Rugby, and Sportable to trial a [Smart Rugby Ball]( this Friday during the Falcons vs Tigers Premiership Rugby Cup match. Why does it matter? The ball contains a tech system to provide data that will benefit both players and TV viewers alike. RFID chips inside the ball communicate with sensors dotted around the stadium. They feedback data 20 times per second which can be translated by Sportable's AI tools, resulting in instant information on different metrics, such as speed, distance and hang time. What's my take? Broadcasters and audiences want more insight than ever before as the coverage we watch continues to get layered with rich data. Now, rather than just showing you half-time stats, such as offloads or metres made, we'll be able to see even more granular data thanks to sensors in the ball. That's all very exciting, but only if the analysis that we get is put into the correct context, as the founders of Sportable explained to me on the [Pocket-lint podcast]( a couple of years ago. If they don't, next, time you're in the pub you'll find yourself spouting off stats you don't really understand or are particularly relevant. And that isn't insightful for anyone. Apple has updated the iPad Air for 2022 with an upgraded processor, 5G connectivity, better front-facing camera, and a couple of new colour options. Our quick verdict If you don't need the scale of the iPad Pro, but want something more exciting than the 9th Gen iPad, the 2022 iPad Air's addition of an M1 processor helps future-proof it when it comes to running those ever-increasing power-hungry apps. If you own the 2020 model then there's little upgrade appeal, but for everyone else this is a super iPad.
