An image showing Nothing's Carl Pei and Qualcomm's Cristiano Amon examining an unreleased phone at MWC has supposedly "[leaked](. Why does it matter? Following the acquisition of Essential in 2021, it's been reported that Nothing was showing off a forthcoming handset at MWC last week, and in this case to the president of Qualcomm, the expected supplier of the phone's processor. What's my take? As Pocket-lint editor Chris Hall rightly states in his piece, the picture feels incredibly staged given that it would be very obvious who was in the room with them at the time taking a photo. Having attended plenty of trade shows over the years, you simply don't get past the meeting rooms' reception without an invite or a pass. Given that - and Carl Pei's previous approach to building hype for OnePlus phones - I suspect this is him working from the same playbook. Still, it does at least confirm the phone, as well as suggest that things are moving along enough for the company to want to start building that hype. Will South Korea be the first to roll out 6G? Its ICT minister hopes so Unsplash What's happened? South Korea says it is [already thinking about]( the next-generation standard to succeed 5G. Why does it matter? The country announced it will "commercialise" sixth-generation services by 2028, according to Lim Hye-sook, South Korea's minister of science and information and communications technology. She spoke about 6G while at [MWC 2022](. "We are continuing our preparations for the 6G era with the aim of commercialising 6G from 2028 to 2030", said Lim before adding that "It will offer a network 50 times faster than the current service and an expanded coverage of up to 10 kilometers above the ground." What's my take? As the saying goes, "Time waits for no man." And while 6G isn't going to be on any devices you own any time soon, the industry is keen to ensure that the evolution of the industry continues at pace. Chalk this one up to something to get excited about in the future.
