Rumours of a phone launch from Carl Pei's new brand Nothing are gathering pace. Why does it matter? Nothing could be a new entry into the smartphone space and will likely bring a lot of OnePlus fans over to the brand. What's my take? I sat down with Carl Pei during MWC in Barcelona and the former co-founder of OnePlus wouldn't reveal details about any future plans. Instead, Pei wanted to talk about what Nothing wanted to build: an ecosystem with an experience to rival the seamless interoperability that Apple users get, [which you can read about here](. But, sources on the show floor tell me that Nothing had been showing off its future device, something that has now also [been reported by TechCrunch](. If there's one thing we know about Carl Pei, it's that he knows the value of the hype machine in building anticipation for new launches and new devices. Apple's March 2022 event is official Apple What's happened? Apple has sent out invitations to an [event it is holding next week](. Why does it matter? Apple launch events are huge in the techsphere and likely to give us a range of new devices. What's my take? I can remember sitting in the press room of Mobile World Congress about 10 years ago when Apple dropped an event invitation on the opening day of the show. It derailed coverage of MWC, diverting attention away from all those other brands gunning for headlines. So it wasn't a surprise to us that Apple announced its 8 March event as this year's show reached its conclusion. Reminiscences aside, rumours suggest that we might see a [new iPhone S](http://)[E]( an [M2 chip to refresh]( Macs - particularly the MacBook Air - and maybe an iPad Air update. As always with Apple, we won't know what's coming until launch day. But it's sure to bring plenty of excitement with it. OnePlus 10 Pro initial review: A great looking flagship phone Pocket-lint What's happened? OnePlus took the unusual move of initially launching the OnePlus 10 Pro in China, rather than globally. We caught up with the handset at [Mobile World Congress]( with an eye on its further rollout in the second half of March 2022. Our quick verdict First impressions of the OnePlus 10 Pro are good. We have no doubt that this is going to be a widely appreciated phone, therefore. It looks and feels good and, although that camera is large, we actually like the overall design - especially on the black variant. [Read our preview](.
