Oppo has been hard at work on its SuperVooc [fast charging technology]( and has taken to MWC 2022 to demonstrate the future of its charging capabilities. Why does it matter? The record-breaking 240W SuperVooc charging ([as seen in a speeded-up video here]( can take a 4,500mAh battery from flat to full in just 9 minutes. Yes, 9 minutes! What's my take? Let me guess, you probably still plug your phone in to charge when you go to bed, so you have a full battery when you wake in the morning? But what if the phone was charged before you finished brushing your teeth and put on your pyjamas? That's the crazy fast charging future we're heading to, it seems. As you can imagine, that changes pretty much everything we know about mobile battery management. It's still in the demo stages at the moment, but given Oppo and its stablemate brands are already rolling out 150W charging on the same tech standard, it's really only a matter of time before your smartphone will go from zero to full in as long as it takes the average person to run a mile. TikTok has [quietly started letting users]( upload videos that are up to 10 minutes long, in another significant change to its app's raison d'être. Why does it matter? “Last year, we introduced longer videos, giving our community more time to create and be entertained on TikTok. Today, we’re excited to start rolling out the ability to upload videos that are up to 10 minutes, which we hope would unleash even more creative possibilities for our creators around the world," explained the company. What's my take? As YouTube pushes to become TikTok, TikTok pushes to become YouTube. Or, as I saw someone comment on Twitter, "10 minutes that's not a TikTok, that's a TedTok." After all,Ted Talks last roughly 10 minutes too. In that light, I can see it being popular with a completely new audience. However, it could also significantly change the platform from convenient snackable content to something much more, and I'm not sure those that like watching never-ending streams of quick clips will be happy with that. - [What is TikTok and how does it work?
