MediaTek has been demonstrating its Wi-Fi 7 technology to "key customers and industry collaborators". Why does it matter? Qualcomm is also testing Wi-Fi 7 and its senior director of technology planning, Andy Davidson explained to Pocket-lint that it should be a real game changer for home networks: "Wi-Fi 7 brings a multitude of features that can be used to offer extreme speeds, high capacity, and low latency in support of next-generation applications and services," he said. What's my take? Wi-Fi waits for no man, women, or child it seems. But, before we talk about tomorrow, we need to consider today. I've been using Wi-Fi 6 in my house for some time, thanks to a Linksys Velop setup, and have to say it does make a huge difference. And, it always amazes me that Wi-Fi is something we absolutely rely on day-in day-out, yet many opt to use an old, beaten-up router that's hidden in a cupboard. If you live and breathe the internet in your house which, let's face it applies to the vast majority of us, it makes sense to treat yourself to a mesh system at the very least. That way, by the time you come to upgrade it again, Wi-Fi 7 will finally be out and ready to be enjoyed. - [What is Wi-Fi 7 and why should you care?](

Samsung will [reportedly]( announce a second phone in its 2022 "A" series this March - most likely as part of Mobile World Congress. Why does it matter? The handset is very much an entry-level phone it seems, with a 6.4-inch HD IPS LCD display and waterdrop notch at the top for the front camera. It'll feature an under-display fingerprint sensor and will run on the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. What's my take? The Samsung Galaxy S22 range might get all the headlines but it's the A series, such as this year's A23 and A53, that will do the real numbers when it comes to sales. Especially if the rumours are to be believed. Not only do these both look great so far but we shouldn't have long to wait. Mobile World Congress is at the end of the month. - [Samsung Galaxy A53 release date, specs, rumours and news]( A MESSAGE FROM SPONSOR Sharp's 2.1 Soundbar with wireless Subwoofer offers the ultimate TV audio combo Sharp The 2.1 HT-SBW202 soundbar with a wireless subwoofer offers one of the most affordable and convenient means of upgrading your TV system into a home theatre experience.
