The standard S22 and S22+ refine the series' design beyond its predecessors, while the S22 Ultra merges the line with the Note series that has come before. Why does it matter? This is Samsung's big reveal for the year in the smartphone space. And, with some bold technologies and a Note-replacement in the Ultra, it is clearly aiming to cement its place as 2022's Android king. What's my take? An impressive launch saw three new models, plenty of options, and a promise that if you buy an S22, no matter which, you'll be looked after on the software front for the next four years. That's a lot to like, as Samsung hopes you'll believe that all other Android phones just aren't worth the bother. The company also used the one-hour presentation to bamboozle us with plenty of marketing buzzwords that will make you cringe: "Nightography" and "Vision Booster" immediately spring to mind. It felt at times like one of those shampoo ads that switch to gobbledegook halfway through to sound impressive. Tech babble aside, first impressions from the team are positive. These new phones are definitely ones to watch. Remember that it's still only February though, and there's plenty more to come through the year. We cannot wait. - [Samsung Galaxy S22 initial review](

Disney has confirmed the release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi, the latest spin-off TV series in the Star Wars universe. Why does it matter? Buoyed by huge growth in subscription numbers announced during the company's latest earnings report (presumably from everyone watching Encanto a thousand times), Disney is hoping to keep the momentum going with more from our favourite fictional universes, namely Star Wars and Marvel's. What's my take? I can't believe it's not coming out on May the 4th, especially given that it falls on Disney's usual Wednesday release schedule this year. - [Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+: Release date, cast, trailers, and more]( A MESSAGE FROM SPONSOR 5 reasons we love the new EZVIZ DB2 video doorbell Ezviz In recent years, EZVIZ has established itself as the leading brand for smart security systems, including video doorbells and smart cameras. The Redmi Note 11 is the company's 2022 affordable device, bolstering the line-up with a faster refresh-rate AMOLED screen. Our quick verdict On paper, this affordable handset reads like a hands-down winner in the budget category. However, in practice, there are performance issues that taint the experience a little too much. Look at the Moto G31 or spend a little extra on the Note 11 Pro, we'd suggest.
