Twitter is [rumoured]( to be adding a feature that would enable users to pen full articles on the platform. Why does it matter? In 2020, Twitter introduced continuous threads for longer-form writing, but each entry was still limited to 280 characters. This could allow people to write short essays instead. What's my take? The beauty of Twitter is its brevity - this could change that. I'm not sure I've got time to read even more than I already do. The future of Microsoft HoloLens is uncertain Microsoft What's happened? According to a [report]( by Business Insider, sources from inside the company's mixed reality division have said that plans for a HoloLens 3 have been scrapped. The company will focus on software solutions instead. Why does it matter? Frank Shaw, communications lead for Microsoft, rebuffed the suggestions: "[It is a] critical part of plans for emerging categories like mixed reality and the Metaverse," he said. "We remain committed to HoloLens and future HoloLens development." What's my take? I was at the original HoloLens launch and the subsequent follow-up event for HoloLens 2. Having used both devices myself and heard the spiel, it's clear that the HoloLens isn't for consumers. Not in its current form, at least. It's just too "business" and far too expensive at present. So, while it might not be heading to the shops anytime soon, I don't think that automatically means it's dead. However, there is truth in the messaging that Microsoft sees software and gaming as an easier way to break into the "Metaverse", rather than virtual conferences where we all wear headsets. In a lengthy interview in the FT this week, company head, Satya Nadella, talked about how gaming will be the number one way to immerse ourselves in other worlds. AR headsets will play a part in that, but I believe they will be facilitators rather than the main gateways. Huawei P50 Pro review: What's the state of Play? Pocket-lint What's happened? Huawei's latest flagship - the P50 Pro - has gone on sale globally. But is it any good? Our quick verdict Without Google Services, many users won't get the experience they need here due to the lack of certain apps - and Huawei's App Gallery / Petal Search can't solve everything. In terms of hardware, however, this flagship is still one of the most advanced on the market - particularly on the camera side, where it's mighty impressive.
