New clues suggest so Pocket-lint What's happened? Android co-founder Rich Miner is [working on]( Android tablets, according to ComputerWorld. It looked into Googleâs tablet history and noticed Minerâs LinkedIn page lists his current title as "CTO Android Tablets" at Google. Why does it matter? Google recently announced Android 12L - the first indication it still cares about tablets. It positions it as a "special feature drop that makes Android 12 even better on large screens". What's my take? Given Apple's huge success and dominance of the tablet space with the iPad, it's about time Google returned to compete, rather than leave it to Amazon, Samsung and Microsoft to dominate when it comes to alternatives. I believe it will be some time before the company can offer a viable option, but you've got to start somewhere. And, with the Pixel smartphone range enjoying critical and commercial success, now is the time to capitalise. - [Best tablet 2022: Top tablets to buy today]( Tesla starts selling a TeslaMic microphone for in-car karaoke Tesla What's happened? Tesla has launched an in-car karaoke microphone called TeslaMic. Itâs only available in China for now. Why does it matter? This is an expansion of Tesla's in-car "Caraoke" feature, which released via the V10 software update in 2019. It introduced the ability to play a limited list of songs with lyrics appearing on the centre display. The new 2022.2.1 software update in China offers a more complete karaoke system though, as it leverages the Leishi KTVâs interface and catalogue. According to Tesla, the TeslaMic pairs automatically with the system and features sound modes to help singers. What's my take? This brings a whole new meaning to in-car entertainment doesn't it?
