Electronic Arts has [confirmed]( that three new Star Wars games are being developed and/or produced by Respawn Entertainment, the in-house studio behind Titanfall, Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Why does it matter? The first is an oft-rumoured sequel to the studio's excellent single-player action-adventure. The second an all-new first-person shooter (i.e., not Battlefront). The third is a strategy game. What's my take? It's good to see that we'll be able to continue to enjoy the Star Wars universe beyond just another TV show on Disney+. Sadly though, I suspect we'll have to wait some time before we'll be wielding lightsabers. Chromecast with Google TV 2 could be a cheaper 1080p model Pocket-lint What's happened? Yesterday, the team [reported]( on a potential new version of the Chromecast with Google TV after a device with the codename "Boreal" popped up in conversations online. Why does it matter? Now it is being claimed that Boreal could actually be an additional variant, one with 1080p rather than 4K video output. What's my take? It's all very well offering the latest and greatest when it comes to the likes of 4K and Dolby Atmos, but that's a bit of an overkill if your TV doesn't support those standards in the first place. It certainly makes sense to get a cheaper model onto the market, to expand the Google TV userbase. But are we going to see Stadia pushing onto these devices as well? Google's cloud gaming service could certainly do with a boost and a cheaper Chromecast could be an enabler. During 2021 we've been given some of the most exciting developments in TV technology that we've seen for years, and the Philips OLED+936 is trying to top the lot. Our quick verdict Philips' assault on the high-end TV market has shifted up yet another year with the OLED+936. Although it's not the easiest TV to use, the picture quality is spectacular, its Bowers & Wilkins-inspired sound quality is in a league of its own, and its Ambilight-driven design is gorgeous. All for what in the circumstances is a very tidy price.
