The parent company of the Philips Hue smart lighting range, Signify, has [announced]( four new outdoor solutions to improve your drive or garden. Why does it matter? Existing Philips Hue users will also soon find new options in the dedicated app. Candlelight and fireplace modes are to be added that will gently flicker and glow to set more romantic moods. What's my take? Philips Hue continues to set the benchmark for custom smart lighting and it now has its sights set firmly on your driveway and garden. However, it will need to make sure that it creates designs that people want adorning the outside of their home, rather than something that can at times look like it's straight out of a suburban conference centre.
