Get them to [sign up here.]( Samsung patents an origami folding laptop Lets Go Digital What's happened? Samsung's patent [covers]( a laptop that folds traditionally and then can be folded once more when closed. Why does it matter? The motherboard, battery and components housed below the keyboard would be split into two sections to allow the device to fold vertically. What's my take? About 24 years ago I had a keyboard that folded out from the side of my Handspring Visor at the time (think iPhone Pro Max today) to reveal a full sized keyboard to type on. The concept and product was amazing and as long as you could find a flat surface, it worked a treat. The trouble was it was flimsy, used to get filled with dirt, and one wrong turn and you knew it would be game over. I'm not sure then whether I would be happy to do that with a laptop today, but it does show you that we should expect our devices to work and be used in very different ways in the future as new technologies and approaches become available. Apple Vision AR/VR headset could be pricey but powerful Antonio De Rosa What's happened? Apple's AR/VR headset has been [tipped]( to be considerably more expensive than rival devices when it finally arrives. Why does it matter? "The main reason why the company has discussed price points above $2,000 is because of some of its internal technologies," says Bloomberg's Mark Gurman who is the source of the latest rumours. What's my take? Of course it's going to be expensive, I think that's a given, especially when you factor in Apple prices going back all the way to the first MacBook Air and beyond. The question still remains though whether people will want it, and I find it fascinating that was the same question we all asked ourselves when the iPad was first released, or the Apple Watch, or the AirPods, and you only have to look at the Apple sales numbers to tell you how those devices panned out. Unless, of course, it's Apple's modern day Newton in disguise. - Apple glasses: [What's the story so far on Apple's AR headset?]( - Apple failures: [From AirPower to the Pippin, these are Apple's unloved devices]( A MESSAGE FROM SPONSOR EcoFlow's DELTA Pro ecosystem is perfect for living off-grid Ecoflow With the climate crisis getting worse, living off-grid is appealing to more and more people. Despite dropping behind the electric curve compared to some competitors, the Munich automotive company is looking to muscle in on its German rivals, Mercedes, Audi, et al. Our quick verdict This is a great electric car, aimed at the top of the market. A refreshing interior marks out a new chapter in BMW design, but the exterior might divide opinion. Big price differences between the different models demands serious consideration about how much range you really need too.
