Google Meet has [introduced]( live translated captions for video calls for its Business Plus subscribers. Why does it matter? Google first started testing the feature last year. It works on the web or from mobile, but it can only translate English into French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. What's my take? Okay so you aren't going to have a full blown conversation with someone who speaks a completely different language to you using this new feature, but at least they might be able to understand you a little better. That's the hope here in what is clearly the first step to making international chit chat a little easier, and saving you from actually learning a new language. I've used the standard captioning service within Google Meet and it's very clever and very accurate, but for the moment, this is still very much a work in progress for most of us. OPI made 12 Xbox-inspired nail polishes that unlock in-game content Xbox What's happened? Xbox [announced]( it has partnered with nail lacquer company OPI, on a new lineup of gaming-inspired polishes that unlock in-game content for a couple different titles. Why does it matter? The new line is called OPI x Xbox collection includes 12 vibrant colours that, when purchased from Ulta Beauty stores, qualify for redeemable codes, which you can then use to unlock an exclusive Ford GT livery in Forza Horizon 5 or an armour coating in Halo Infinite. What's my take? I missed this announcement during the craziness of CES last week, but feel that it warranted mentioning still. Why, because it hopefully goes to show that not all gamers have to be geeks in their bedrooms who don't really care about their personal appearance - but are in reality normal people, who actually want to look good, and colourful. Amazon introduced the Echo Show 15 in 2021, taking its family of Alexa-enabled connected smart devices into a new realm, pushing out to a new larger 15.6-inch size and inviting you to mount it on the wall. Our quick verdict The biggest Echo Show to date makes it easy to get Alexa's functions onto the wall and off your worktop - but the sound quality is surprisingly weak, and while the big display gives more space to play, it's not very well utilised, widgets can't be resized, and the Visual ID customisations often just duplicate what you've already got.
