Get them to [sign up here.]( iPhone 14 to feature unique dual cutout for camera/FaceID? @rendersbylan / Twitter What's happened? Apple's [next iPhone]( could feature an unusual dual cutout punch-hole display, according to the most recent rumour. Why does it matter? It claims that Apple will adopt a punch-hole system that comprises of two cutouts: one pill-shaped and one round. It's also suggested that the smaller of those two cutouts will not be invisible. In other words, it'll look like a sidewise 'i' cut into the display. Or an exclamation mark, depending on your viewpoint. What's my take? Since its introduction in the iPhone 10 in 2017, Apple's notch has been polarising. To be honest though, aside from the media hoo-ha, nobody has ever lost any sleep over it. Now rumours are starting to build that we'll lose the notch in favour of what's people are referring to as a "hole + pill" design that minimises the black bar at the top of the display as far as it can. Bear in mind that all of these solutions, of which Apple isn't alone in trying to solve, are stop gaps until all the sensors can happily work under the screen without any interruption. While I believe the rumoured design is totally plausible and that we could easily see it on an Apple iPhone in the future, it will surprise that an arrival comes so soon after we saw a new notch on the iPhone 13. Apple doesn't like to swap out tech that quickly - even when, as we've seen in the past, people don't think it works. PUBG now free-to-play across all platforms Krafton What's happened? PUBG: Battlegrounds is now [officially free to play]( across all platforms, stripping away its price of entry to make sure that anyone can try out the hit battle royale game without having to pay anything for the privilege. Why does it matter? While the game has at times been on [Xbox Game Pass]( and the like, making it available to play for low to no cost, this is a major shift for it overall. It could potentially see the game reach a wider audience than ever before, even despite its huge popularity at its peak. What's my take? Games like PUBG are all about the number of players that you have access to play against. By making it free, you in theory guarantee the number of players playing is going to grow considerably. But here's the rub, if you want to play against people that are roughly the same skill as you, you'll still have to pay via an in-game "premium" option. So either get ready to die a lot or carry on paying. The HP Omen 16 is part of a laptop trend even miserable old so-and-sos like us can get on board with. It's a powerful gaming PC but doesn't look too much like one. Our quick verdict The Omen 16 is a more mature kind of gaming laptop, perfect for those who like to play games but would never wear a Fortnite hoodie out of the house. It is well-specced for 1080p play, although some of you might want to consider the step-up Nvidia RTX 3060 version instead.
