Only follow if you... Hey , You opened this email because you're curious enough to know how to improve Google keyword rankings, right? Every website owner would like to increase their site keyword rankings. But, it's not that easy as you know organic keyword competitions and other factors such as algorithm updates. However, in my experience of over Six years in SEO and content marketing, I have found some tactics to improve keyword rankings. Here they are in brief. Note: I don't guarantee ANY increase in rankings at all. These are what worked for me. :) Write in-depth content If you're familiar with articles I write, you should know one thing for sure. My blog posts include at least 3,000 words in it. I don't write articles for the purpose of rankings (of course organic traffic is wanted), but for providing value. On another hand, lengthier articles rank for many long tail keywords and they're the most targeted keywords you'd ever find. Improve overall blog quality To be honest, it took me a few years to understand the effect of deleting the low-quality blog post. Like most people, I was hesitant to delete posts because only I knew how much efforts first place I spent for those. However, the key takeaway is "low quality" do not do anything good, but bad for your reputation, traffic and growth. In one time, I had to delete over 200 blog posts at once and it made a significant change my blog after a few months. Use internal-linking well for your advantage It's not easy to build inbound links. I accept that. However, it's not difficult to add some links to older posts in new posts and vise versa. I've improved some of my blog posts from nowhere in SERP rankings to the first page just by using internal-linking. Not anything doing overly won't promise anything but look spam. Similarly, don't keyword stuff in your link text. Use long tail keywords in link text to improve rankings for long tail keywords too. Update blog posts Your blog articles that are published in 2013 might not be suitable for current-day readers. Things change. So, should your blog articles too! Replace new images for older ones. Remove unnecessary paragraphs. Add new content. Make sure all links (especially external ones) working well. Add some more visual graphics if possible. I'd recommend improving as twice as the existing one. It will boost your article's SERP ranking. I've experienced it a multiple times. Don't forget to change the "Published Date." When have you clicked on an article that was published in last decade? or even last year? People tend to click on most up-to-date articles on SERPs. ---- These are the simple tips I have followed over last few years to improve keyword rankings. Do not forget to share older articles on your social accounts to give it a new life. Digital media is versatile. There is a minimum chance of people remembering your articles that is published in the last quarter. There are some other tips I'd like to share. It's saved for another time. :) So, have you ever implemented one of these before? Please share your comment by replying to this email. Talk soon, Chamal Rathnayaka, Founder of Pitiya.com.
