And how you can, too

She was referred to me from another physical therapist who had reached out to me after watching my content... He had tried the âtypicalâ approach with her, but he knew something was missing (smart guy). We started working with Pam in January of this year- she had been in pain since June of 2020 after throwing her back out while playing volleyball. Within the first week she was 50% better⦠6 weeks in she was nearly 100% back to everyday activities⦠12 weeks in and sheâs knocking down her sporting activities one by one⦠But how? She had already âtried PT and it didnât work.â Pam needed more than physical treatment to her body- she needed to reduce her brain's fear response to movement. Once we got her out of pain with everyday life- we laid out a plan to get her back to volleyball!
Here was how she did it⦠followed by her homework. Hereâs her list: Pamâs not back to volleyball, yet⦠but sheâs over half way there and should be on par for hitting the sand in the next few months (just in time for summer season!) Why should you care? Now itâs your turn⦠Hereâs your homework: Write a list of activities that youâre struggling with right now⦠Starting with the activity that you perceive to be the most safe â most threatening. Just like Pam did. Then, reply back to this email and send me your list. Once I see the list, Iâll review it personally and reply back. We can begin laying out a step-by-step plan to get you back to full speed! (only if you want my help, of course) Chat soon,
Dr. Charlie PS- The list might start with something as simple as âsitting for 5 minutes, cut my toenails, drive to the grocery storeâ it doesnât have to be perfect⦠but remember, those who fail to plan, plan to fail. PPS- If youâd rather skip the line and get started right away on your path to relief (like Pam did), then [apply here to see if we can help and submit your case for review.]( At [physicaltherapyjohnson.com](, we are strongly committed to protecting your privacy and providing a safe & high-quality online experience for all of our visitors.
