Hey photographers, let's talk about this... ?? 3 Quick Tips for Minimalism Photography at Home

Hey photographers, let's talk about this... [Home]( 📸🪴 3 Quick Tips for Minimalism Photography at Home Grab the [Minimalism Photography Case Studies]( today to dive deeper into examples from specific situations to form your own unique photo ideas (but read the tips below first!). –– If you’re ever stuck at home with seemingly nothing new to photograph, you can subject yourself to creating some minimalist style images. The beauty of minimalism is that you can easily do it, whether indoors and outdoors and at any time of the day and with any type of lighting that you have available. 1. Create minimalist still life photography Here’s a nice still life image done in the minimalist style. There are only a handful of objects here - the glass container, the plant in the glass, the blue table, and the blue wall. There’s also enough space that the wall covers that makes the image really quite minimalistic. It’s a very simple image that you can actually replicate and do at home. 2. Find fine art opportunities With indoor minimalism, you’ll find a lot of lifestyle, still life, and even fine art photo opportunities. Here’s somewhat of a lifestyle image showing a cat walking through some window curtains. As you can see, there’s no need to set up anything here. You just need to wait for your pet to walk to a space that has minimal elements around. Although not our typical object used for negative space, the curtains still served that purpose in some way - blocking off elements from the outside that could be a distraction to our subject. But also, in this case, it’s also part of the story. 3. Look for silhouettes It’s quite uncommon to create a minimalist indoor photograph that’s a silhouette. That’s because using darkness usually reduces what you focus on in the frame. Look at the image above. It’s a very easy concept to pull off since it only requires a window, some lighting, a person, and a bit of imagination. This photo was also converted into black and white to make it fit the mood and drama of the story. Of course, even if I’ve been showing examples with people or pets in it, indoor minimalist themes can be done with just inanimate objects, just like the first image.
