First, Donald Trump’s MAGA enablers amplified the Big Lie that the election was rigged. When conspiracy theories about our election’s legitimacy led to a coup attempt on our Capitol, Republicans blocked a bipartisan investigation around Jan. 6. Then, far-right Republicans blocked the For The People Act, a much-needed and wildly popular election reform bill. They wouldn’t even allow debate in the Senate! Now, Republicans are proposing — and passing — hundreds of state-side voter suppression laws nationwide. Worse, their efforts are targeting our country’s most marginalized and already‑disadvantaged communities. I won’t mince words: We need to make sure far‑right cronies like my former opponent Devin Nunes cannot lie, cheat, and steal away our democracy.
