Camp Fire survivors Charles and Jenn Brooks started a foundation to fill in the gaps not covered by insurance or government recovery funds. The Rebuild Paradise Foundation helps other residents with rebuilding costs not typically covered by insurance, such as engineering fees, and supports those who were under- or uninsured or do not qualify for government assistance. Last year, it gave out more than $1 million.
