Nonprofit News From Elsewhere Online A new United Nations report on the financing of green projects has found that Indigenous peoples are being left out from trillions in global spending to fight climate change. The report, by the U.N. Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, concluded that Indigenous peoples have generally not had a say in green energy projects on their lands. It stressed that governments have a responsibility to make sure they are included in decisions on green projects but also noted the role that private funding, including philanthropy, can play in supporting such groups. State libraries in Missouri, Montana, and Texas have announced that they were leaving the group, citing comments by its leaders on how libraries should deal with book challenges.
