Crowds participated in the World’s Big Sleep Out in nearly 50 cities, including Los Angeles, London, New Delhi, and New York. The event was part of a campaign started by the owner of an Edinburgh sandwich shop, Josh Littlejohn. Participants asked for pledges from supporters, with a goal of raising $50 million. Half of the money will go to groups fighting homelessness in the cities where the Sleep Outs occurred, and half will go to global charities, including Unicef, that help displaced people. ([New York Times]( The Lebanese-born businessman who bought Nazi memorabilia, including items owned by Adolf Hitler, at a recent auction will donate them to Israel’s Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. Abdallah Chatla, who made his fortune in real estate and lives in Switzerland, paid $660,000 for, among other things, Hitler’s top hat and a silver-plated edition of Hitler’s “Mein Kampf.” He said he originally intended to destroy them but later decided to donate them.
