The GOPâs new favorite tactic is to spin lies about âCritical Race Theory.â They need to avoid talking about what really happened on January 6th, but they also know that their policy ideas are deeply unpopular with a majority of people. So they turn to waging their culture war and getting folks riled up about racial equity. At Tuesdayâs debate, I made it clear that CRT is not being taught in our schools and that Republicans donât even know what it is. [VA Lt. Governor Hopeful on CRT]( Let me be clear: Republicans are attacking me because they are afraid of our movement. The far-right GOP nominee for Lt. Governor, Winsome Sears, brings up âCritical Race Theoryâ at any chance she gets. [Virginia GOP Lieutenant governor nominee slams critical race theory]( Theyâre scared that if Iâm the nominee, I will dismantle their nonsense talking points and win Virginia for Democrats. While they talk about âCritical Race Theoryâ, Iâll be talking about the real issues that matter to Virginians, such as investing in high-quality education, fighting climate change, raising the minimum wage, and creating a fair criminal justice system.
