It’s syrupy in body and weighty in taste, with notes of cumin and California Bay Laurel, teak and applewood, and a sweet, earthy finish. The coffee beans are harvested, pulped, fermented, then rinsed by hand during the Wet-Hulled coffee process, also called Giling Balash (a process created in Sumatra and now used throughout the Indonesian archipelago and beyond). The coffee beans arrive at the mill still damp, and after tumbling in the hulling machines, they embark on their long journey to our roastery.
