For many years we’ve been roasting Anniversary Blend, and for the past handful, we’ve been focused on beans grown by some of our female coffee farmer partners—giving back with each batch to our [Mujeres to Market]( program. [SHOP NOW]( [SHOP ALL COFFEE]( "Upon inspection at arrival, the medium-to-light-green large, oblong Colombian beans smelled sweet and grassy, showing a bit of silverish skin. The Rwanda beans were small and slender, greyish olive green, and with a coppery chaff line. They smelled like dried fruit with a hint of pear or apple blossoms. The roast progressed rapidly, and the first one or two sharp cracks were audible early before building to a solid consensus. The Colombian and Rwandan coffees behaved very well together and had an even color at the finish, although the general appearance favored the large Colombian beans. The blend finished at a relatively low temperature, as expected. These are two coffees that have become favorites for Anniversary Blend, both for their seasonality and story. They are both fresh, juicy coffees with tons of acidity and fruit. The Colombia has notes of red fruit and chocolate, and the Rwanda with cherry cola and malt. Out of the test roaster, we were hit by this blend’s mouthwatering texture, bright notes, and lingering brown sugar sweetness—balanced by a brisk roastiness.
