Because tax credits associated with this bill will be allocated to private schools at taxpayer expense within the state, this bill will ultimately impact the state budget in the same way as school vouchers. PPS in Action: Medicaid Rally at MS Capitol   Our very own, Becky Glover, attended a recent rally at the Mississippi Capitol for the full expansion of Medicaid for state residents. The rally took place as House and Senate leaders negotiated a compromise on Medicaid expansion legislation. The House's expansion plan aims to provide health coverage to upwards of 200,000 Mississippians and accept $1 billion in federal money to cover the expense, while the Senate wants a more restrictive program that covers around 40,000 people, declines federal funding, and requires recipients to show proof that they work at least 30 hours a week. Community Conversations Held in Pitt County   Community Conversations are structured discussions designed to gather community perceptions and opinions about public schools.
